About Me
Hello! I'm Alexa Hart, and you have reached my personal website. Here is a little info about me.
A Southern California native, I hold a Communication Studies degree and a minor in Professional Writing for Business Communication from UC Santa Barbara. After university, I traveled a bit around Europe and then got a job at a public relations firm in San Francisco. I decided that the job wasn't the right fit for me just yet and that I needed to pursue one of my biggest passions: travel. I started volunteering in Peru, which led to completing a TEFL/TESOL (Teaching English) certification. Ever since, I have been adventuring, volunteering, and teaching English around the world. I have had a blast exploring and developing cultural awareness.
I am a strong believer in experiential learning, and I am constantly learning new skills to deepen and broaden my knowledge. A few of my interests include entrepreneurship, volunteering, "mediapreneurship," traveling, adventuring, teaching, racquetball, cooking, good design, new media, collaborative consumption, amazing finds (restaurants, deals, travel destinations), and technology.
Seoul, South Korea was my home from March 2010 - March 2012. There, I taught English to adorable Korean munchkins. After my contract ended, I traveled around India, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I am currently stateside working as the founder and host of Atlas Sliced, an interview-based web show and podcast serving up advice on how to live and work abroad. Check it out!
